I'm still not a fan of the start menu, but I like that it can be made full screen. Build 10061 is surprisingly stable. I still wouldn't advise using it for a "primary" OS.
Go to PC Settings -> Personalization -> Colors and turn "Show colors on taskbar and startmenu" to on. You can then change the colors just as usually, so not a big deal.
I don't like the menu either, but my reason is because it's far too similar to the start screen, and I don't like that either, unless all you use the menu for is click to open a pinned app/program, it's useless I'm not finding it very stable on my tablet, but that could be the tablet, every few reboots it's switching screen orientation even with it locked, the system tray icons popups stop working, like battery level, in fact when that happens, most of the functionality of the entire desktop stops too, like trying to right click the desktop, nothing happens, taskbar, nothing, even rebooting sometimes won't fix it Few other things, but haven't finished my first coffee yet, brain not awake
lol I tried to use windowblinds in windows 10.... taskbar bugged out and my pinned icons size was increased and spread across the whole taskbar. and firefox tabs text was invisible. anybody know of a way to tell windowblinds not to skin taskbar? I was just going to use it to change windows frames, so I didnt have to look at grayness all day. I would use high contrast settings but It drives my eye crasy.
No, it is not "just as usually". As I said, by using the Settings app, you can change the colors. But, you can't customize those colors for hue and intensity like you could by using the right click on the desktop and choose personalize method that used to work. That is a big deal to me.
You still can't add browser Favorites as a list in the Start Menu. You can pin the Favorites folder though. The Start Menu customize button is greyed out in properties.
It's in german but I think that won't matter. I can change the intensity and hue just fine in 10061. https://i.imgur.com/YhEd5EG.png
But does moving the sliders actually do anything? Or do the colors stay the same? They stay the same for me.
Can you remove the live tiles? if that's what they are called? The icons on the right side of the start menu.. can you remove those? so it's just the text icon's on the left?
Yeah they do work fine for me. Only intensity doesn't change that much, probably due the new transparent thingy. Did also use the iso for a fresh installation. Because the upgrade completly messed up everything. I usually also run a system check using an iso of the build I use, after upgrading to fix missing/broken files. (sfc /scannow etc)
Installed this build on my laptop to test it, and I'm not able to make use of 5.1 audio ( AC3 / Dolby etc ) The only audio it can play seems to be AAC codec or MP3. And it always downsamples to a 2.0 output. Anyone else experience audio issues ?
That actually looks really slick. But would it be possible to disable / remove Cortana and simply revert back to the " old school " index search ala Windows xp / 7 / 8? As well as removing Tiles from the start menu and get a simple icon and size as Windows xp / 7 has? ... Just curious if those are possible customizations, rather than mandatory design decision from Microsoft.
