In this article we review that wicked looking Cooler Master MasterLiquid Maker 92 CPU cooler, the new compact and flexible AIO liquid cooler will be available soon in a rotating model with looks like ...

The design looks nice and compact for a small / standard form factor board and case however, the performance of it seems a bit under performing.

I praised the cooler's aesthetics previously. Unfortunately tho, performance-wise is a bit uninspiring.

Could it be fan related in any way?

Just wondering what fan profile you were using for the Corsair h110gt

radiator and fan are small, the pump is OK for CPU only (as it won't heat up too much nowaday) and price have to stay low. as schwepps: what did you expected?

the idea is good, but for now it's just to say: "i am on WC :)"

let's see rev 2.0 if there is one planned.

The performance of this unit is just as lame as the naming of the whole new lineup.

Looked through the spec's and didn't see weight mentioned, what was weight?

CM usually makes decent products. This one is crap. I bet the 212 EVO is a better cooler.

    Great review boss.

At that size, I'd rather have the reliability of a heatpipe cooler. The laws of physics don't break very often.

    Some of those as well
Cheers for the review, Hilbert. I was considering buying this as my HTPC's CPU can get toasty under load, but as you say in the review, the performance is disappointing and is comparable to the air cooler installed (A Thermaltake Frio Silent 12 with another fan since the stock one is awful).

Looks like I'll have to go full blown water cooling.

    Well,it sure looks handsome.
    Cooler for cooling the CPU
Main purpose: to efficiently cool CPU = 0 points
Cooler performance in visual department = 10 points

compact, low noise...seems good for non-OC builds tbh. if the price is competitive then this is pretty good.

Not surprise this "thing" failed one bit lol! Totally pointless product!

Why wasn't the cooler re-tested in various fan orientations? Like horizontal, vertical and maybe 45 degrees? I imagine this would make a big difference in cooling performance.

it wont make any different i believe
liquid cooling depends on radiator size to cool off the liquid
with that small rad size + short distance it wont cool off the liquid enough

why u think it will make big differences?
any physics law reason in fan orientations that make you think it will give different result?

Of course it would make a difference. If the fan is facing down and pushing air towards the cpu then it would be hot air from the radiator. This orientation would also keep the radiator from cooling down as efficiently since the air is not being directed away to a vent. If the fan is vertical then the hot air from the radiator would be pushed away from the cpu instead and likely to a case vent hole keeping the radiator cooler. Similar to how placing fans in different areas/orientations in a case makes a difference on system temperatures.

i would say its not big difference, why?
you can try yourself swaping radiator/heatsink fans and see if the temp difference, if it giving you big difference or not
it will be less than 3C difference at most, except you really set the fan so the airflow is blocked

not really similar, but push&pull setup vs pull setup, the temp difference i find is around 2C... which when the radiator clogged then temp no longer difference

so based what my personal experience with various cooler
rather than fans, heatsink matters more... except you like to set fan at max rpm
a gigantic heatsink+low rpm fan wins over small heatsink+high rpm fan

and fans airflow depends on ambient temp... with those setting basically stuck in middle of case/mobo... which is in warm side
so no matter the orientations, the improvement will be really minor

well if Boss hilbert have time, maybe he can give another test

lol, radiators benefit greatly from forced airflow. there's a reason they stick them on the front of cars to benefit from free forced airflow when the car is in motion.

its even more important in this particular setup since everything is so tightly intergrated... you can't just rely on the radiator as a heatsink, it needs air movement to get the heat out...
