    MSI R9 280X GAMING TF 3GB
    Hey everyone
i'v bought recently MSI R9 280X TF GAMING OC, and everything work fine atm without overclocking the gpu, i treid to push up the gpu and i made this changes :
    Core clock 1020 MHZ = 1170
    Memory clock 1500 mhz = 1800Mhz
i didnt touch in the Core voltage.

i played dayz SA and after 20-25mn THE Game crashed.
i treid 1150 core clock and 1600mhz same thing game keep crashing. and some people have same gpu and can go above this frequency
dont know if issue come from my PSu ( COOLER MASTER GX550w)

I want you guys to help to find the Right frequency for my gpu.

    rest of my specs:
    asrock z77 extreme 4
    i5 3570k Oc to 4.3GHZ
    8gb ram
    os:W8.1
    PSU : CM GX550w

Guys, you think that my PSU is enough to run both cpu and gpu in Oc?

    ALSO
how the core voltage work? i cant see the right Vcore Of my gpu in MSI afterburner and do i need to push it up if i Oc the memo & core clock? and The power limit?

the stable frequency that i can get, but i want to go more ):

just to show you how the vcore appears for me in MSI afterburner

    thank's in advance

Try +50 power +40 mV set clocks 1050/1350. Also I have read over on the TPU forums that some of the 290s from MSI the heat sink screws are not torqued to specs and could cause stababilty issues. I saw a post by one of the MSI reps said to check the 4 screws on the back and make sure they are tight.

After burner will set random values when selecting a said value. Say I select -19 mV then AB will input +38 instead but if I select -25 mV it will input -19 mV.

Also disable all power managment for the GPU in AB and in the OS power settings.

    http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards

    MSI states 33A and a 600 watt PSU min for a 290x.

The first post says you have a 290x, anyways go into AB settings a select ULPS didable and AB will ask to reboot, reboot then go into the windows control panel and select power managment and select custom. Search for the the tab that says pcie link state and select max perf.

From what I see you are trying set high GPU frequencies as you should start with the default freqs without changing the gpu voltages. Start with 10 MHz above the defaults only on the core and run a benchmark like 3d mark. Then continue to add 10 MHz more and repeat until it crashes. Then go back to the core setting that was stable and then do the same thing with memory freqs.

When overclocking power managment seems to act up and cause problems. Even with PM disabled the GPUs will still going into a lower state when in 2d mode.

    Good luck!

    thanx for help guys
