Hey guys. I'm currently running my i7 7700k at 4.6 with the basic motherboard built in OC values but I'd like to if I can go to 4.750mhz if its possible. Only thing is I'm running air cooling (CoolerMaster Hyper 212X) but at the moment on the desktop I'm idling around 33c and even under load it doesn't quite get up to, or just hits 70c. I understand if I want to get to this 4.750 number I'll have to adjust the Bclk values? Is anyone able to provide me some safe numbers and voltages to try? Motherboard = Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 z270x Thanks for any suggestions.
Why do you want 4750 in particular? That will require 125mhz strap which will also OC ram. 100 strap is recommended(various reasons) 100 also works best with 3200 ram speeds. Set Vcore to 1.3(i wouldn't go much over this unless delidded) and set multiplier to 47. Leave ram at stock 2400. Test stability with p95 26.6 If it's stable increase multi to 48. Repeat. Then do ram last. It may require VCCSA voltage increase to around 1v
All sorted. I've used the built in OC on the mobo and put it up to 4.8 and she's totally fine. I had thought that it might be to hot under air cooling so that's why I was hesitant to try it initially but it turns out its sweet as.
I think for 4.8 ghz u can probably boot with 1.248 V then u can test for stability but 1.3 on a 212 evo will be really the max the cooler can handle
