It helps if you tell us what games or benchmarks you're trying to run...

There are games that run worse on multi gpus (like Batman AK for example). Give more info.
Which ones did you test ?
Current single vs SLI results ? ( I mean now with two gpus installed)

Is this your first sli setup? If so every time you install a new driver sli is disabled by default. You can also select the sli indicator in the nvcp so It will be a green vertical line on screen to the left, the more sli is humming the bigger the line will be.

Uninstall Nvidia drivers using DDU(when it asks about safe mode click yes) and install again.

The biggest thing would be to verify they are both running at 8x PCIe speeds. I had once where one card wasn't seated well and only ran at 4x speeds.

Also if you have other PCIe devices I've seen it drop the speed on one card down to 4x.

When I first tried SLI with a GTX680 at the time I had a PCIe Soundcard & PCIe video capture card. With those installed and the 2nd video card it would only get 4x bandwidth on the 2nd GPU which made performance horrible!! I removed the video capture card and it booted up at 8x speeds on both.

Also check for dust build up in the PCIe slots, Ive seen heavy dust prevent a 8x or 16x connection before if the slot was unused for a while.
