Great Stuff. Killzone, Uncharted, GOW, Resistance and other Sony exclusives at 1080p+ with AA and 60 fps on its way for PC.
Gran Turismo 5 on triple screens with playable FPS, SweetFX, devent AA and Id be happy as hell. Uncharted games would look amazing as well. Ive got to try this out.
The day it will play PS3 games at 60fps. or at least tekken for me it good. though i have PS3 already.
I would love to play RDR with decent framerate and picture quality.Totally ruined game on my ps3 due to the awful juddering and blurry mess that was the graphics
Holy Hell! If this works even remotely atm I'm happy as Santa Claus on E getting laid... Gotta give this a shot today with my PS3 games. Question: what do you need to break the current generation 720p barrier on console gaming? Answer: a PC
Ooh, interesting, I wonder if anyone will make a VR version like they did with Dolphin. GT5 in the Rift would be rather amazing.
Yeah, like 3 games, that are simple as hell. http://rpcs3.net/ Just before anyone came along expecting to play uncharted or whatever You'll need to give it a couple years at least.
The purpose of this thread was nothing more than a progress report. At no point is it stated that top tier games are currently playable. Not only that, but the time frame to be able to is an obvious one as we're all familiar of the foundation work that needs to go into such tasks. Why even berate the fact the such progress is being made. With that attitude, you may as well tell the devs to not even bother.
Man, I love emulators. I used to play GBA, SNES, Genesis, NDS, N64, PSone, and PS2 games on emulator. I remember those days when my nephews and nieces were younger, we like to play Mario Party on my PC with 4 controllers. That was fun! Too bad now they all grown up and don't have time to play with me anymore. I guess my PC won't be powerful enough to run this PS3 emulator. So maybe anyone have some unused parts collecting dust?
Nah, on second thought I'll pass atm. Seems this emu too needs the firmware (BIOS) files and finding them seems like too much of a risk (the download may just as well be a virus for all I know). But like said, good work anyway so far devs. Keep it up! PS: it also seems that retail PS3 games cannot even be accessed by a PC Blu-Ray drive, probably some sort of copy protection scheme there. At least my drive sees the disc as empty. PS1/2 game discs were accessible with a PC, as far as I recall...
Not intended as a jibe, but it was just the title was a touch misleading and the replies seemed to indicate poeple thinking that they could play full 3d games
Direct compute cards are able to emulate better than the mainstream cards. Saying that we are still way off, good that were moving in the right direction though.
Man PS3 emulation is making rapid progress. I am very surprised. This is great news. Not sure if my beefy of a rig can handle the awesomeness. But I wonder if any x79/X99 rig can handle PS3 emulation? Im sure that any the developers of advanced Emulators such as PS3 will be able to find a way around the copy protection of the PS3 game discs. I mean look at PSP games. Also that is nice that some one is working on an xbox360 emulator.
As far as I know, they're encrypted. It wouldn't matter anyway, as the emulator can't read discs yet if I remember correctly. But I would think it's possible to use them when disc reading gets implemented correctly. The videos presented in that article are old though. They're not using the PPU JIT compiler, which is already leaps and bounds better than the interpreter in terms of fps and, and would I dare say in working games, even though it's still in its infancy. It's also a nice bonus that it seems to use around 50% less CPU time to do the same things the interpreter does. Is is wishful thinking that maybe some serious commercial games would be playable in a years time? :nerd:
