    Hi all!

Recently I assembled a computer with the purpose of rendering scenes, hd video, etc. I had another PC previously, but it lacked enough power to perform the tasks in a suitable time for my needs, so I took the decision of mounting another PC.

So the downside is that once the computer was fully assembled and Windows 7 installed, the performance was very, very low and poor compared to the old PC, although its components were much better. To give you objective data: using Cinebench (from Maxton, developers of Cinema 4D) to perform a benchmark test using CPU, I got an overall score of 0,37!! when computers similar to mine usually get about 7-8 points. Not only that but testing both computers with the same benchmark, the old one kicked the new one in the ass in an amply way.

    The new PC features:

    CPU Intel i7-3770
    16GB RAM DDR3
120GB SSD Drive for SO and apps + 1TB no-SSD for pure storage, temp data, etc.
    Motherboard Gigabyte Z77-D3H
2 x nVIDIA 9800GT SLI (taken from the old PC)
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I could see that CPU gets to 100% and uses the 8 threads of the i7, but in a very slow way compared to the use of the 4 threads of the old Quad Core CPU. Even using half of the threads, Quad Core is capable of surpass in a 500% the performance of i7, and that has no logic.

I don't know what is happening but I'm very frustrated. So if you need more information I have no problem at offering it.

    Thank you very much!

Your old machine was a quad core and so is your new one, yet you put Athlon x2.
Why fill your specs in wrong, you just created your account here?

Smells funny, so apologies if you are not a troll.
