I have a 400mhz computer with a stb velocity 128 video card. I am going to purchase a voodoo #4 4500 card. My question is do I need a pci or a agp card and what is the difference between the two.

    Both versions will work.
The difference between them is that the AGP version can move the textures faster between the system RAM and the board's RAM.

In my opinion the voodoo4 it's not a really good card. if you have less than 300 bucks
think on a geforceMX.
About AGP/PCI isue it depends on your motherboard really, check it out, if it only has white and black slots, buy pci,
but if it also has a brown slot pretty much like a pci, but slightly moved to the right, thats agp, so buy AGP.
