Magni and Modi 2 Uber along with Beyerdynamic DT990 pro 600 ohm are on the way. SWEET! This should take care of my complaints with the Beyer MMx 300 along with my asus xonar u7. Does anyone know if equalizing software comes with the Schitt audio DAC and AMP? I hated the DTS4 that came with the Asus xonar U7. Can't wait to uninstall that crap. What are your thoughts on my choice of cans and amp/dac? Will I be happy? SUPER ECITED!!!!

I would go with 250ohm with Magni² for higher Volume.
But it handle the 600ohm of the DT990.
Beyerdynamic amp self just have 100mW Max.
DT990 need about 80-90mw for optimal Sound.
Magni² give 130mW and magni²uber 160mW.

    So dont Worry.

Keep in mind that new audio Hardware & Headphone need about a week burn-in time to sound great. In that time don´t Volume up to much.

Thanks. It's already ordered BUT it's through amazon. So if I don't like it I can send it back. I'll give it a couple weeks to break in. I bought the higher end amp/dac then what you suggested for future headphone purchases. There will clearly be more. :D

TK I was following what you bought. How do you like it so far? I am going from closed back to open back headphones, so I am eager to see the difference. My bank account did just drop by about 800$ or so. :-(..... When my gear gets here I am sure I will go to :DDDDDDDD. That Bifrost is expensive but it looks like it's a all in one?

Have not ordered it yet, waiting on tax return to come in. Wasnt sure I would be able to afford it until today. The bitfrost is just a dac. I am going to stack it with my asgard 2 amp

Ahhh, as you can see I am new to this stuff. I thought it was a combo DAC/AMP. That is a expensive DAC! Can't wait to hear how you like them. Oh and if you recall you were helping me with overclocking. I still have the processor that is in my profile, I just decided to wait to overclock until I build a new PC. That way if I melt the sucker or do something wrong I won't care. It will be purely a learning process and to see how far I can push my processor. Anywho..... good seeing you around the forum.

Oh also a quick question. The headphones I bought can only handle a 100mw of power and my Magni 2 Uber give 160mW. Will that damage my cans or does that simply mean be weary of turning up the volume? Forgive my ignorance, I am new to the hi fi sound game.

    Best
    Adam

Overclock is a breeze, I had 1.45v pumped in this cpu for 4 years, no power saving at all. The audio intrests me more now than the cpu , mb upgrade I was going to do. I`m fairly new to audio myself.

DT990 goes until 250mW so it cant damage your cans
If you really go over 250mW it have a limiter, but i doubt someone listen in so high volume :D

I keep thinking of more questions after I post. I already asked this but no one addressed it. Does Schitt come with equalizing software as I hate my Dolby TS4 or whatever it's called that came with the asus xonar u7.

I bought the DT 990 Premium 600 ohm version so it looks like I'll be fine with my amp. Right Elpsychodiablo?

I use a graphics equalizer myself. Music sounds bland to me otherwise. heavy on lows and highs, mids not so much.

This is what I use for an equalizer, I`m not into all that technical jargan.
I wound up using these settings for my 880 dt pro 250 ohm and he-500. I go by what sounds good to me.

    Use this
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/

The only decent (free) EQ for windows as far as I know.

Equalizing headphones for flat response is nigh impossible.
Best you can do is roughly find maximums/minimums and work on them.
When satisfied, compare your headphones with speakers, preferably studio monitors. Taking them off, putting them on, should not change the sound
