I got that BSOD yesterday when watching a youtube video caused by dxgkrnl.sys and atikmdag.sys but no problems so far when playing games.

As per 99.9% of those BSODs (especially if single card system) - they are typically caused by things such as Hamachi LogmeIn or that software that allows phone stuff to work on Windows, Bluestacks. This is true regardless of what WinDBG might say.

Also, look to anything actually video related with drivers, 3rd party.

Just a little heads up. Well working systems do not ever get BSOD from AMD (or NVIDIA) drivers on their own. (Or in extreme rare cases that something is wrong like when memory leak, it is widespread news.)

And yes, original Win 7 x64 driver a few days ago could not be installed unless all manually. Just to confirm. New one installed without issue normally via installer.

if your main reason to use afterburner is the OSD,
why not just use RTSS standalone for that and overclock with either wattman or trixx?

Just another 2 cents. Some of you are extremely sensitive to losing a frame per second and test for each release: "oh I was getting 79 but now it's 78 " kind of thing, heh.

HWinfo (and overclocking utilities themselves too) have drivers. And you know to have an active driver takes resources/interrupts etc...

So, can't hurt to check with LatencyMon to see if any of those are affecting the system more than you'd like, or if they are light as to be unnoticeable.

DPCLat instead for Win7 users.

My game performance took a huge dump in Rally DiRT with this driver where I can no longer enable the advanced graphical settings (advanced ambient occlusion, blending, fog, etc.) and maintain 60fps at 1080p.

Yep, something is very wrong with 17.6.1

I did a safe mode DDU uninstall this time and 17.6.1 no longer installs completely - Radeon Settings is missing coz the my GPU is no longer identified hence Device Manager reports the default vga adapter after installation. AMD is losing it?

I returned to 17.5.2 and all is fine again

Still works here from 480p to 4K videos using the MPC-BE & BlueSky.
I can replicate issue with MPC-BE.

I'm on GCN 1.0 in case that matters.

Performance is also kind of shi*ty in CEMU. I had to use the 17.3.2 DLL to make it work like it used to. Looks like we're getting punished for Vega

ZERO change in performance in DiRT Rally for me with these drivers.

You should check your base configuration, something seems to be wrong.

Actually this driver iteration performs well across the whole board, not a single game out of ~30 AAA titles that has any problems ... testing about 10-20 min per game.

@PRMinister: CEMU (v1.8.0b) and Dolphin (DX11/DX12 & OpenGL) both max out 60 fps LOCKED (respectively 30FPS depending on game title) for me with this driver. No change to previous driver.

These are super stable drivers, so I suggest anybody with problems to properly clean up old drivers / reset all possible settings etc.

In Dirt Rally i have little boost, say 2-3FPS average.
Good one

I have disabled DVR and Game Mode in WinX CU, also im not using OSD of any kind when Playing (only when testing) to maximize Latency

Of course besides DX12/Vulcan Games i have Always SweetFX in-Game ON (ReShade 2.0.3 with SweetFX 2.0 with HighPass_settings.h)
