Watch Dogs E3 Lite v2

Description
The E3 Lite Mod v2 was designed to improve graphics quality of the Watch Dogs with a minimum set of modifications such as increased level of detail, better lighting, unlocked extra effects and some features from E3 demos.
This version have two editions: Standard Edition and Extra E3 2012 Bundle - an extended edition of E3 Lite v2 that includes additional mods which bring back some cool features from that amazing E3 2012 demo.

Plus you can customize this mod with:
- Variety Pack - a community mods collection (all the additional mods from Extra E3 2012 Bundle can be found in that pack and added to Standard Edition)
- Vehicle Lighting mod - a set of different E3 demo-like Lensflares for Vehicles including proper Red & Blue Police lights, visible headlight reflections during daytime rain and more
- Frequent Rainy Weather mod
- Increased Road reflections intensity mod (included in Extra E3 2012 Bundle v2.1 and v2.2)

You can download all those mods below in Additional Mods section.

Also if you want to maintain the Lighting and Weather from Retail Release check out my E3 Lite v1 and Extra Lite (only a few E3 tweaks) mods here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=396749

So now they turn on after the sunlight disappears, and turn off right before the sunlight appear.
In previous versions the street lights were turned on along with sunlight for some short period
which generated too much shadows at once causing FPS drops in some areas.
- Night Sky/Moon fix for "Bad Medicine" campaign mission from Bad Blood DLC.
- Aiden's Coat Wetness fix by The Silver.
- Some small Environment Lighting tweaks.

Awesome release man, congratulations.

Just tested and everything feels balanced - lighting, e3 2012 extras, I also liked traffic increase, city feels more alive.

And I mean it feels vanilla, which is good + little smooth touches by you, I kinda felt like it was pre-release build before they delayed the game back in november 2013.
Result is - a job well done

Wish we could do something amazing with driving physics, but oh well.

Now we just need the old coat physics back.
But that will probably never happen...

I think the strenght of this mod is the lightning and how the effects were used other mods would overdo certain things such as bloom where it would just bleed all over your screen or sunlight would completely blind your vision or reflections so bright that it would look unrealistic.

This mod however is done in such a nice subtle way if you didn't know the game was modded you would think this is the way the game was originally designed.

Well done TXGT ! great effort and a great result thanks alot for v2 it was well worth the wait!

Thanks man!
I tried to make things look more realistic instead of more cinematic/E3 like.

That's exactly what I think too, and it's the greatest achievement IMHO, really awesome work mate!

I have some questions: Does the existence of an upcoming Performance Version means that the current versions includes tweaks that decreases the performance compared to the vanilla game? Or maybe the Performance Version is just for weak computers that already struggle with the vanilla not-maxed-out game? Is the previous Variety Pack entirely compatible with v2 except for the Bloom?

PS: Thanks for the credits and congrats for your release.

Performance versions includes my old performance patch for E3 Lite v1. I made it cause someone reported performance issues. It consists of two files: "defaultrenderconfig.xml" and "defaultengineconfig.xml" which located in "engine" folder inside patch. The "normal" versions of E3 Lite v2 have the same "engine" xmls as my original E3 Lite v1. The only difference is that I disabled "AlphaToCoverage" and "RenderRain" by default, but you still can turn them on manually in your GameProfile.xml.
In short - E3 Lite v2 should perform exactly like my E3 Lite v1.
But if you didn't know (even if I did mention it in my thread and Readme.txt) E3 Lite v1 have increased Level of Detail, Draw Distance, Reflections quality and Shadow quality. Performance versions will only have Level of Detail, Draw Distance and Shadow quality reduced to nearly Vanilla level. I didn't downscale Reflections quality in performance versions.

All mods except for Bloom in my current Variety Pack version are compatible with E3 Lite v2.

Just wanted to let you guys know: I didn't include Increased Parked Cars density mod because with increased Traffic mod alone it's already hard to get through the traffic during police chase.

My thoughts exactly, the change is so subtle, and yet so sweet, that I personally recommend using this mod in first walkthroughs, to get authentic WD expirience, as it was meant to be for release game, without adding E3 2012 concepts stuff, as game progressed from that long time ago.

The only thing missing in my opinion are animations, that older builds had for pistol running/noweapon running and so on. If we only could include them it would be complete package totally
Don't think that we can fix that tho, at least to my knowledge.

Is there any way to downtone the depth of field a little? I feel like he's short-sighted at times.

You can add default vanilla DOF (for cutscenes only) or Minimum (Light) DOF from my Variety Pack, just read the instructions inside archive.

He's using Extra E3 2012 Bundle. It includes heavy bokeh DOF from Marduk's Merged mod and E3 2012 Focus animation with special DOF effects (found by Puredorian and fixed by me). He took those screenshots during Focus Mode (aka Slow Mo/Bullet Time) that's why the Rain is looking that good.
You can add both the E3 Focus and Maximum DOF mods to my Standard Edition from the Variety Pack (download links in previous post).

I'd love to but I have crappy internet. There's no point sharing bad quality/low res video for graphics mod presentation right? Plus I never captured gameplay on PC before (except on my PS4). I just don't have time to learn about this. Also it takes time to edit the captured video afterwards.

I'm planning to post comparison screenshots Vanilla vs My Lite mod and some weather showcase screens.

Also I will give you more detailed info about the Weather Cycle which will help you to find desired Weather Preset.

I've extended the Rainy weather duration in v2. You can extend it even more by adding longer TimeScale mods from Variety Pack.

Ah that's awesome! However adding longer TimeScale mods would make the rainy weather feel more rare instead of more frequent, so since the duration is already increased if you know how to increase also the rainy weather probability please tell me, I will edit the files myself without bothering you anymore.

The frequency increase will be hard to explain. I'm afraid it may break something in story campaign. Or at least it may load Rainy Weather preset during some Campaign missions that was meant to be played during Sunny weather. But I could be wrong, I just never tested it.
