Default 1st time build help please. - 08-13-2015, 20:25 | posts: 1

Hi sorry if wrong section.

I am in the middle of building my own rig. and I just need some help with compatibility. to make sure all fits well before I order.

The pc:
Case: Cooler Master Stryker Full Tower Gaming Chassis

Hard drive : Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE120 (120GB) SSD SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 inch (Internal)

Motherboard: Asus X99-E WS Motherboard Core i7 Socket LGA2011-3 X99 CEB Gigabit LAN

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) Memory Kit PC4-21300 2666MHz DDR4 DIMM C15 (I know it's probably not the best ram in the world but it's just a temp bit of ram)

Power supply: Antec High Current Pro Platinum HCP-1000 Power Supply Unit

Processor: Intel Core i7 5820K Socket 2011-V3 Processor

My question(s) are

What graphic(s) card will work well with this rig?
is all of that compatible?
What sort of performance am I looking at here? what games will this play?

Any GPU will work with your high end computer which will play any game.
What budget you have for graphics?
Nvidia or AMD?

Don't buy the 840evo SSD drive. Opt for something else (even if 850evo), the 840evo has a basic problem with it's hardware layout that won't (can't?) be fixed by Samsung.

Also, make sure you chose the board that has the options (connectors) you want to have, but not necessarily more. Anything in particular that you want from the X99-E that other, cheaper boards can't do?

Like anticupidon said, all graphics cards will work fine in your new build. What card fits your fancy or build best depends on the games you play, your monitor's resolution (and if you already have, either Gsync or Fsync technology present), and of course your budget.

I would recommend the GTX 980 Ti since the price range is not really marginal from the 980 also do check AMD's power hungry products. I your budget 's tight the NV GTX 970/780Ti would do.

Hello Mat6950, looks like you come from HD 6950, I had 3x6950 in crossfire...

Lots of games don't support crossfire.. SLI isn't perfect too...

I got a 980 ti and I am very happy. Buy the best card you can, avoid crossfire and SLI if only 1 top card is enough for you.
