Default Daniel_K pack - 04-16-2012, 13:37 | posts: 80 | Location: USA

Hi, I got both the Auzentech Home Theater and the Prelude. I noticed under the Daniel K drivers thread that there are 2 versions for reach pack. There is the "AuzenUAA pack" and the "AuzenWDM" pack. What's the difference and which one should I pick for me soundcards?

I'm having that weird crackling noise and thinking that the DK drivers might help.

Use it at your own risk.

sb x-fi titanium pci-e install disc 1.0 supports the following model of sound blaster x-fi titanium pci-e (oem/retail):

- sb0880, sb0881, sb0882, sb0883, sb0886, sb0889

operating systems supported: 32-bit and 64-bit editions of windows 7 rtm / vista sp2 / xp sp3

included in the installation disc:

- driver 2.16.0004.6 whql (11/18/2009)

- 3dmidi player 1.11.01
- alchemy 1.41.02
- automode switcher 1.01.01
- audio console 3.00.46 (installed silently by the driver)
- console launcher 2.61.43
- diagnostics 5.11.02
- dolby digital live pack 3.00.06
- dts connect pack 1.03.08

- entertainment center 5.10.21
- karaoke player 2.11.08
- software autoupdate 1.40.04
- smart recorder 2.41.26
- sound blaster plugin for media center 3.10.32 / 64-bit: 3.20.11
- soundfont bank manager 3.21.02
- thx setup console 3.50.05

- volume panel 2.21.13
- wavestudio 7.12.00

additional software:
- mediasource player 5.26.02 (complete with all plugins)
- media toolbox 6.02.10 trial version

release notes:

this installation disc is meant to be a direct replacement for the disc bundled with your card.

It includes all the updated software available and installs flawlessly.

The driver included is an oem version, fairly stable and whql certified, which means it will install without any prompts or security warnings, just like an official works.

The only feature not supported by this driver is voicefx, not really missed by most users.

known issues:

1) mediasource, media toolbox, ddl and dts connect packs are installed by the main installer, but to uninstall the applications/packs, you need to remove them individually from program and features (win7/vista) or add/remove programs (xp). This behaviour is by design.

2) if you want to do a custom install of mediasource and/or media toolbox, uncheck the boxes in the main installer and run the installers manually.

- for creative mediasource, run \cms\setup\setup.exe
- for creative media toolbox, run mtb6\setup\setup.exe

Hi,

the difference between WDM and UAA is UAA doesnt include "what you hear" and WDM is not for Prelude.
http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...11&postcount=3

Quote:
From UAA suite

-This is the same Auzen Prelude Beta1 UAA driver previously available, now in a complete pack.
-The UAA native driver should work better than the compatibility mode WDM driver from Creative.
-This set is recommended for users having crackling and static issues with NVIDIA nForce chipsets.
-Decoder, DVD Audio and WhatUHear are not available and cannot be enabled in the driver included.

pci x-fi 2.30.0004 driver modified to work in WDM mode. (by daniel_k)

Quote:
If you or someone wants to give it a try, here is the same 2.30.0004 driver modified to work in WDM mode.

Uninstall any previously installed driver then install this "Test Driver", reboot.

Run X-Fi tweaker (XFiTweak.exe) to change some additional and crucial registry settings for the WDM mode to be really effective. Restart Windows when prompted to do so.

These drivers work then driver signature issue one day and getting it back to normal is a NIGHTMARE! try uninstalling CTCABEX.dll not found... Everything stays in Add/ Remove Programs and Features... Why did it have a driver signature error in the first place? Then MEGA p17.sys BSOD'S GALORE... Now using Driver Heaven Dot Net Driver Cleaner, I uninstalled and could reinstall working again... Now nothing works like the Entertainment Console says unsupported device... No Advanced anything just plain old sound... How do you WIPE DANIEL_K out for good. Then reinstall proper and fresh again?

Is there a utility that can wipe it out proper and nice and remove all the Creative crap in Programs and Features? Then so I can reinstall P17X_SupportPack_3_1a so all the features will work and Maybe that darn p17.sys won't GO ROGUE again?!?

THANKS

- 4.0: Updated shared components.

- 3.8: Updated X-Fi PCI and X-Fi Titanium PCI-E drivers.

- 3.8: Probably this is the final version ever, unless Creative releases further updates.

- 3.7: Includes official X-Fi Titanium and Titanium HD PCIe drivers: settings are properly saved after restart.

- 3.7: Updated shared components for many applications, updated X-Fi Tweak to clear some old driver state files during install and uninstall.

- 3.5: Fixed cannot detect errors with Gigabyte integrated X-Fi (CA20K2).

- 3.5: Automatically deletes CtxfiReg registry entry in Run key, if found. This is related to a previous and buggy version of Support Pack.

- 3.5: Updated Console Launcher and shared components.

- 3.4: Official Windows 8.1 drivers for Auzentech X-Fi Forte and Auzentech X-Fi HomeTheater HD.

- 3.3 bug fix: Fixed settings not being saved for cards with official Windows 8.1 Support.

- Fixed Windows 10 driver installation issues

- Improved setup script and install process

- Installation is now future proof

- Installation now customizable, select what you want to install.

- Updated applications and shared components.

- New integrated Post Driver Install Helper tweaks the driver without tampering certificate.

- Setup now properly detects multiple devices and aborts if more than one device is found.

- Setup now fully supports multi product installation.

- 64-bit ASIO / OpenAL support for Auzentech Prelude and 64-bit OpenAL support for all other cards (as they already support 64-bit ASIO with their official drivers).

Release Notes:

IF WINDOWS 8 / 8.1 / 10 DOES NOT SAVE SETTINGS

Configure all settings and shutdown Windows so that your settings will be saved.

This does not work if you disable Fast startup permanently or temporarily (by holding the Shift key while shutting down).

INCLUDED SB X-FI PCI DRIVER WORKS IN WDM MODE

In order to support all of the original features of the SB X-Fi PCI cards (except the OEM SB077x models), the included driver operates in WDM mode, which may not work in some hardware configurations, specially those based on the NVIDIA nForce chipsets.

An UAA mode Support Pack will be available later.

MEDIASOURCE DVD-AUDIO PLAYER AVAILABLE ONLY ON PCI CARDS

This feature is available on all SB X-Fi PCI models, except SB0730, SB073A, SB0760 and SB077x OEM.

Are these Daniel_K X-Fi drivers & software tweaked at all for different sound? The reason I ask is because I installed the 4.0 package yesterday and personally thought the sound was flat and dull when listening to music. I am currently using an X-Fi Titanium (non-HD) PCIe with Windows 10. I reinstalled the driver & software directly from Creative's support page and the sound went back to normal.

Depends, sometimes it may set Tone EQ a bit lower then usual, windows glitch.

In that case try to reconfigure bass/treble in windows volume panel (Tone) or go to device manager and remove XFI (keep driver), press F5 (let it reinstall), reboot and check the sound again.

I just installed this set on fresh windows RS1 and it sounds normal.

I need some help big time. I need to activate the DDL and DTS Connect pack as I only have access to home theater speakers built into the walls and optical audio (with X-fi sound board). I would gladly pay the $5 to soundblaster to activate the license but they don't sell it anymore. I there a workaround for this? I've searched for hours.
