I've started folding again, and have decided to change teams from Maximum PC to Guru3D. I'm impressed with how quickly the team is moving up in the ranks, but we currently have under 150 active folders, and while I couldn't find an exact number there must be many more than that in active forum members.

The #3 team, Maximum PC also has a subforum for Folding but they give members badges for Folding milestones, like for being in the top 10, 50, 100 ect: http://www.maximumpc.com/forums/view...=857123#857123 - Something like this or a title might bring many more members into the fold.

The idea of badges are interesting one. Finally after 20 days of virtually not folding (laptop is way too slow) got my new system and have been folding every since like anything and so far everything is working out great. Hopefully, we will overtake 2 teams within a month.

If this is your first time running the SMP2 Cleint and you haven't submitted any a2 WUs (BigAdv) then in order to qualify for the bonus, you will be needing to first submit 10 a3 WUs then you will be getting the bonus points. Make sure that you are using the passkey. More details can be found here: (http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.ph...=13160#p128586)

yup first timer for SMP , it's an A3 WU that it's doing right now passkey is being used and with a completion time of 36hrs is it really worth it to them thats 15 odd days of 24/7 folding... I think i might just look round for a second hand phenom II and replace my x2 7750BE

woop woop there goes the 80K barrier .....

can someone explain how a folder only gets 47 points for a WU is it because they're not getting out on or before the preferred time allowed

The only time I got 47 points was when I was using Classic Client. I only got a handful of them. If you crossed the preferred deadline, you will get the base points (no bonus) if you get EUE, then it will calculate if you get any points or not. I once submitted a WU and got 0 points for it.

err that's gotta suck then, points for WU's makes it fun to do no fun if you don't get any or very few
