Default Help Uninstalling Program - 06-02-2017, 18:40 | posts: 1,636 | Location: United States

TL : DR ==> DynUpdater (for dyndns) won't launch, can't un-install, can't update to newer version

SOLUTION POST #4 / #5

More details:
DynUpdater (https://dyn.com/updater-windows/) I use to keep my IP address up to date. I can't run it on my router (long story there).

Anyways program gets an error as seen in attachment when I go to launch the program. If I try and either uninstall the old version or install the new version I get a prompt from windows installer as pictured below.

I've tried CCleaner it has the same issue.

In short I'm stuck in limbo can't remove, can't repair/update, etc. Could I delete all the folders and then search registry for anything that says dynupdater would that work? I'm open to suggestions...Goal is to install a working copy of the software.

Here are the errors...

Try IOBit uninstaller
http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php

Check the advanced uninstall box IIRC and tell it to remove the registry entries etc (Can't remember exactly what it says now)

Try with GeekUninstaller Free, right mouse click on desired program and choose Forced Uninstall.

might get your Windows installer information cleaned away so you can remove/reinstall without Windows nagging. I have got rid of some stubborn installs with this. But be careful to tick only the guilty program!
