Everything's fine. You don't need a dedicated Physx card. SLi is enough and anyway there's just a few games that use it.

According to Nvidia a single GTX 560 is enough for Arkham City. Bf 3 doesn't use PhysX.

PhysX is unbalancing SLI. Running SLI + PhysX is not that good. Drivers or something is wrong.

There are some numbers from my own testing.
    Asus 1.5gb GTX580, Ref model at 828mhz.
    Mafia2, maxed, physX high.

    Single GTX580 PhysX : 45 fps
    Single GTX580 PhysX second GTX580 : 62 fps
    SLI GTX580 PhysX gpu#2 : 54 fps
    SLI GTX580 PhysX gpu#1 : 53 fps

My main point is that in 99% of the games there are no Nvidia PhysX so you do have to run SLI .... But if you run Mafia2, Batman or few other "high physX" games, i recommand to run SLI + 3rd GPU on PhysX. If you have few box laying around .... get a 550TI and be happy.
