    Hey guys its been awhile.

I hope someone can help with this, because i am currently at a loss. Sometime this year i want to replace my two 560GTX TI's in SLI and was wondering what would be closiest match if better performance single slot solution. From what i have seen the closiest would be the R9280X or 770GTX. At the the same time i dont want to destroy my wallet.

I am currently playing BF4 on medium settings and would like to run it on Ultra. Would a 2GB or 3GB card be better.

    Current specs:

2x MSI 560GTX TI Twin Frozr II OC Edition @ 950mhz core 1200 Mem
    Intel I5 2500K @ 4.5ghz
    8G Gskill Ripjaws X 1600Mhz

    Any help would be apperciated.

The best graphics cards I'd recommend to you are called a PS4 and Xbox One.

Out of those two probably I would pick a 280X. If you could bump it up to a 290 thats on offer somewhere that be a good upgrade.

I agree that the 280X is a good graphics card to go for as it has 3 GB of VRAM versus just 2 GB on the GTX 770 (unless you buy a 4 GB model but then that will cost more). I would not buy a graphics card with less than 3 GB at this point if you want to play games on higher settings even at 1920x1080.

Thanks for the help guys. I think the 280X might actually be the best solution since its cheaper. But are AMD's drivers still as problematic as before?

Ugh, why do some ppl keep saying this. Doesn't make any sense at all.

@op, if you can afford a 4gb 770, go with that, or else the 280x will likely be the better choice like others said.

Hey guys again thanks for the support, But the main point remains are ATi's drivers reliable as Nvidia's? Its just ive heard there have been issues with games in the past, iam just concerned since it play old and new games often.

Nope, they're as good as nVidia drivers and if there are issues, then they get sorted out quite fast, you don't need to struggle for a long time with glitches.

Also +1 on 280X, you'll run bf4 on ultra with that card. Looking to upgrade to something like that myself :p

As far as AMD Cards go yes Sapphire is one of the best if not the best from what I have heard and read.

Yup, Sapphire is as good as any of the others ASUS, MSI, etc. I've had many over the years and never once had an issue with them... or drivers for that matter.

Just to throw in another option, I am currently running one of the EVGA 770 4gb versions with an old i7 940. I can run BF3 on 5760x1080 at constant 60FPS. The new nVidia drivers are very stable. If you ask me, I would pick up the 4gb 770 with ACX cooling for what you're looking for. Also thinking ahead, picking up the 4gb is helping to future proof your system. Things start dragging pick another up in a few years and you'll be wrecking whatever you can think of.

To satisfy my curiosity, at what quality settings? Resolution scale, the works!
Because if that is the case, then come upgrade time in Rocktober....:nerd:

Yes, Sapphire is fine, very happy with mine.

Oops, accidentally made a little poem there... :nerd:

-Tj- made a good suggestion above, if you can afford it, get the R9 290.

It's more future proof than the 280X. I actually replaced a similar SLI setup to yours with the R9 290.

Got a nice performance bump. The main reason for the swap though was that I needed more VRAM. R9 290 has 4 Gb.
