Hello all, first time poster here but long time reader I just received my EVGA GTX980 ACX SC and have installed it in my Asus Sabretooth X58 board equipped with 12 gigs of 1600mhz DDR3 and a 980x @ 4ghz. Currently I have the 980 running @ 1580 and the memory @ stock 2ghz and temps and stability is great. I"m just wondering if this 980 would be faster on a more recent pcie bus, motherboard and cpu upgrade? My current firestrike scores are 1383 overall and a gpu score of 16099 - 3dmark.com/fs/3274874 Thanks for your advice
I'd say you're nailing it man. The best I got with my 970 OC'd heavily and my 3820 OC'd to 4.2Ghz was a graphics score of 13,607.
Thats what I thought, always nice to have a bit of back up. I see no need yet to upgrade this 5 year old cpu and motherboard
