New Mb with sata3 and new Corsir GT 120gig(Read555, Write 515).

Run HD tuner 5.00, but the best i see outa my drive 292 max and 214 min. This seems quite low for a SSD drive that can read and write that fast.

Is that speed write for that drive or is it slow.

Ok so installed some drivers and now i get the following results. Any ideas as to what might be the cause of the drop half way through and at the begining.

That speed is about right given your motherboard only supports Sata II. If you want the full speed of your SSD, youll need a motherboard that supports Sata III. Or you can return that SSD for one that is Sata II.

Try crystal disk mark, also remember that sandforce advertised speeds basically only apply to compressible data (zeros or ones only) which in real life means almost never.

    What he said.

Also, Corsair recommends using ATTO to test their SSDs. You can find it here.
