I de-lidded my i5-4670, shaved down the IHS so it made contact with the CPU die itself, applied liquid metal (ultra) on the core and reassembled... temps dropped from being in the low 90's to a MAX of 65'c running prime @ 4.2ghz how much more do they expect to gain going completely naked? btw... best way by far to delid a Haswell CPU is to clamp the IHS in a vise and use a board against the processors edge and hit it with a hammer. so much easier than a razor blade. check out youtube.
How did you shave down the IHS? I delidded and just took the glue off + replaced TIM with Noctua stuff but my temps are still terrible. You just use a dremel or something?
