im gonna start with my system specs so u can laugh at me now: dell optiplex gx100 intel celeron 600 64 megs sdRAM windows 2000 pro using service pack 4 voodoo3 2000 pci with the omega 1.03b driver im trying to run half life and counterstrike but i keep freezing up, video is frozen and the sound is looped. this occurs in both openGL and direct 3d modes
well fisrt, i dont think your comp is good enough for win2000 and you'll probably get low preformance, so if you can, switch to win98se... what drivers are you using for your voodoo?
"omega 1.03b driver" -said it in the first post also, my dad wont let me reformat and put a different OS on it cuz he has important work and this cheap pos has no cd burner
sorry, i didnt notice... well, i suggest you to use the Amigamerlin 2.5 SE ... it's the best drivers i've used. you can find it in www.voodoofiles.com
thanks, ill try that 2 minutes later: site just died on me... EDIT #2: found another place to download it from, but its a german server... going slow... bored...
1. voodoofiles.com (the largest 3dfx driver archive) 2. falconfly.de (everything was just about 3dfx) 3. guru3d.com download section (already known working 3dfx drivers)
i installed more RAM and now i can get half-life to run really well on d3d or opengl. the only problems are still with cs. EVERYTHING else (even other games) works EDIT: i also tried reinstalled cs, didnt work
