so I have a z87 Pro, and I found the bluetooth a load of gash!!

Basically My PC is on the desk about 5 inches away from my left had.. I have a PS4 controller, was excited to have it run wirelessly, only to find I get drop outs all the time and can only sit at a certain angle (with the controller over my keyboard)

I tried everything, drivers, resets, yada yada...

Then I spend £1.75 on ebay, get a BT dongle stick it in and disable onbaord BT, and it works better than I could have imagined...?!?!?

Is this just me, or is the ASUS BT a POS?!?!?! Why would they even ship boards with such crappy chips like that?!?

It is not you my good old friend Li , you are absolutely correct , integrated BT on asus boards are mostly crap , i had that problem before on Asus mobos where sending pictures from my phone to my pc via BT the signal suddenly drops ans stopped working :(. I am glad you found a cheap and reliable solution bro :).

Did you plug in that extra wifi antenna, because you need that to work it properly.. its not just for wifi but also for bluetooth as a transmition beacon

Yep, I used to have it stuck to the front of my case before I ran a cat6 to my router.

It was worth the change for me since I got a new wireless AC router. The stock wi-fi on the Z87-Pro is wireless-N.

There original card was an Atheros card, I'd imagine some models got Broadcom cards.

The Intel chip is wireless-AC + Bluetooth.
