Hi all Been a few yrs since i last build a pc (4/5 yrs).. Anyway im looking for a micro atx am3+ motherboard i cannot find any that the features i require... Currently im looking at amd fx 8350 cpu if that helps! I need amd and nvidia gpu support. Pcie express 3.0. sata 3 6gbs Must be micro atx. No more than £150 cheaper the better.. Help much apprecitated thx
Any specific reason why you're going with AMD? If you stick with AMD skip the 8350 and get a 8320, it'll save you some money and it's pretty much the same chip. Depending on your budget you might want to consider Intel, although to be honest you wouldn't be spending much more on a Z97 and a 4690K
Cheaping out on a board for the 8350 is the worst thing you can do, believe me. The fx 8350 absolutely kills any board that doesn't have any official support for 140W CPU's and 4+1 phase boards get killed rather fast too. Always go Intel if you have the budget.
Just been searching the net and appears that the am3 motherboards dont do matx boards!! Was gonna go with amd cause ive always had intel ( least my ps4 has got amd anyway lol ). Best start looking again thx
There aren't any AM3+ boards with PCI-e Gen3 anyway. ASUS had one for a while (Sabertooth Rev 3) bit it was discontinued. For Gen3 you can go FM2+ or Intel....
Gen 3 isn't worth bothering with. Get an 8320 and a reasonable midrange AM3+ board, OR if you want gen 3, a Kaveri-based Athlon X4 and an A88X/FM2+ board.
