Cheers. Could do with finding a house-share or something, live with some like-minded people.

Congrats! Like everybody is saying though, think seriously about living out and commuting in... Bristol is a good choice, so is pretty much any town with a university ;)

    yep. It's grim.

About commuting. There's a lot of places west side of London that are busy commuting hubs. Reading, Fleet etc. You would find that commuting to London would set you back around £4.5k a year. It would be my preference though, because I've experienced living in London.

House share is good, if you find nice, like minded people to live with. It could also be hell. I bet you know that, though.

What's so bad about it, looks alright? And this is Edgware north London, not Edgware road.

I've had good and bad house shares, I'll be selective when moving.

I know Edgware pretty well, used to go shopping to Colindale Asda sometimes, when I lived in NW2. Edgware is ok, but still grim in my books. I guess I'm just comparing it to the lovely country side I live in now. As far as North of London goes, it's alright, I guess.

btw, no matter where you decide to live, make sure you're a short walking distance from a tube station. Buses are a pita in London, they take forever, due to traffic.

My thoughts exactly. I was looking at that area for a number of reasons:
    1) Parking on streets is generally available, no residents only
    2) Rents aren't too bad
    3) Good transport links (both north to home and on the tube to town)
