That's what I would do... although, I would save enough to buy a high-end Maxwell once it is released later this year and (hopefully) F@H will fully support it by then.

    Can't fit a high-end card into an SFF case. I need a low-profile card.

Okay, then it is best to simply wait until F@H supports it and hopefully by then, you may get it cheaper or an AMD GPU, whichever nets a higher PPD and fits your case :)

I considered an R7 240 as I can find them in low-profile, but the local BestBuy wanted $200 for it the last time I was there. I thought that was a bit ridiculous seeing as how a standard R7 240 was only $100, so I passed on it. Wife doesn't want me ordering any more parts for a while so it's BestBuy or nothing. Coincidentally, BestBuy's own website lists the card for $71.62 through the "BestBuy Marketplace" but my local store refuses to price match...

Hey, i'm new to folding and downloaded the classic client.

When I start the FAHclient after the installer it said "stanford class not registered".

I closed this error box and ran it manually from the installation folder and there it is just stuck between downloading one 2.89mb file and one 2.51mb file each time saying "Access denied".

I have properly set permissions to my appdata folder so I have no idea what to do now.

    Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Ah damn, the classical error, running FAHClient.exe as Admin fixed this.

It seems to be running now but how do I know if i'm added to the Guru3D team? It didn't ask me for any group number or anything.

Also how do I set it to run only off of my GPU and not both my GPU and cpu at once?

Open the advanced control window. Click on "configure". Click on the "identity" tab. In the section labeled "team number" enter 69411. In the "Name" section, enter something to identity you. Then click on the "Slots" tab, select "CPU" and and click the "remove" button. Then click "Save"

    Thanks!

I seem to be getting around 17k (I don't know how accurate that is, it seems to be jumping around like crazy.) points per day in the advanced tab thingy.

Does that seem about right or do I need to fiddle with some settings?

Not that I am aware of.

Also after completing one task my PPD suddenly jumped to 30k.

Only difference between the old and new task is the new task is on FAHcore 0x18 and the old one was 0x15.

EDIT: I added a passkey now. And damn my PPD is going through the roof now.
Skipped past 130k, 160k,180k and its now topping off @ 295k PPD.

Just the 970 so far, i'll probably be keeping this pc running 24/7 for the next few weeks anyway so atleast its going to be on 24/7 for a good reason :D

EDIT: Now that i'm thinking of it, I have several older pc's (Celeron D's/6800GT's) would it be worthwile folding on them too or would it just be a waste of power?
