I have the MSI 980 gaming

just a quick question, if anyone is familiar

would you recommend using the software that came with the GPU? (MSI Gaming app) to control fan speed/OC?

or are you using MSI afterburner with a custom fan curve?

    any help would be appreciated,
the goal I guess I would like is to have adequate cooling when gaming
and little to no fan speed in idle

all the while not "thinking" about it.. or having to switch it on/off everytime.

    thanks.

Default fan curve is more than enough to have proper cooling.

You can mimic the same thing in AB if you want , I have mine set so it triggers fan at 45c instead of 60c , but you can set it anyway you want in AB .

    I didn't install there gaming app, from what I read I don't need/want it .

yea the MSI gaming app that comes with the GPU is pretty neat

I want to set a fan curve, so I Don't have to "remember" or "set" anything before doing what I want to do.

I guess I'll try to set up a fan curve, where the fan is off unless it hits a specific temp.

I was wondering if anyone had a picture of their fan curve, so I could get a looksie lol

    thanks again.
