Noooooo! About the only TV's with natural colour, low input lag and latency. Great for gaming and not harsh to look at! Also motion blur is almost non existent.

In that case I blame ALL of you that did not buy one and did not realize the benefits. That just tops of a s**t day :(

I have a 2011 model and it's great. Not so power hungry, no problem with burn in and only slight image retention if left on for a long time.

I hope they don't stop making IPS panel TVs. I was thinking of buying one.

My parents have a Panasonic TV in the front room and the picture quality is great but I'm a bit of an energy saver so I doubt I'll ever own one.

How's that 1200W power supply working out for you? :)

It doesn't actually consume 1200W lol.

    PC @ idle > 70w.
    PC @ gaming > 216w.

EDIT - BTW PC means everything including the monitor which only consumes 20w.

What are you using to measure power use?
My PC not including monitor, uses 100 to 120W at idle.

That sucks. I've had a Panasonic plasma for about 5 years as well and it still looks better than any of my friends' TVs. It's only downsides are the amount of heat it puts out and that thing where it forces down the brightness after so many thousands of hours but re-calibrating it solved that issue.

If they cure the the green phosphor lag I would buy another one but my eyes are the wrong ones for plasma.

Yup. Two Panasonic plasmas here as well for the past 5 years and they're still going strong and haven't caused any problems yet (Samsung on the other hand).

Currently in the market for a new 55" now (most likely plasma), might have to make a decision soon...

50" great as long as a screen is now over 60% white otherwise it turns grey which I can fix by voiding warranty

I doubt they would, that's pretty much all that tvs are made out of no?

Plasma, IPS and crappy TN panels for cheaper options.

Your meter probably isn't very accurate. At 770Mhz your 470 should be pulling around 250W by itself, maybe more.
