I have firefox, thunderbird, mpc-hc, hashtab, avidemux, jpegview, libreoffice, 7zip, kodi, qbittorrent, and sumatrapdf installed. Couldn't be happier.

Libreoffice in particular has improved by leaps and bounds. I'm on v5.2 beta 64bit and the word and excel alternatives render all except one document properly. Then again, I stopped caring so much about that when I saw files created in office 2010 don't render the same in 2013 or 16. Dunno about powerpoint.

Kodi needs a different skin (aeon nox highly recommended) installed to be actually usable imho.

I'm on firefox dev edition 64 bit for the upcoming features like e10s. It's a lot better than stable 32 bit. Only downside is the daily updates which mean on some days it may have some issues, and I did for the first time with v49.

I also use malwarebytes anti-malware free edition for weekly passive scans.

Hosts file from winhelp2002 is essential imho.

I also use a program called 4k video downloader to take care of 1080p youtube videos. It supports other sites too but I only use it for yt. Doesn't install any crap but has a banner ad for registration, I don't think that should be a big deal.

I use jpegview instead of the built in windows app. The app is horrible when it comes to memory usage. It uses over 100MB per jpeg -_- Stability used to be awful too and it's slow to redraw when panning or zooming. ****ty app in short :p Windows photo viewer tends to crash with a dll error so I stopped that too. That's where jpegview comes in. It's super fast, highly customizable and light.

Glad you posted about AIMP, I had used it long ago but didn't find it necessary. Now I've installed it and it's so slick and feature full now :D I'm using the dark version of the default theme, so good. How do I use that radio feature in your shots?

Yeah, the latter. It works great! Only downside is the taskbar button flashing the green progress bar.

If you guys find more good opensource software, please keep posting them. Some of us really appreciates it.
Whenever I can, I look for opensource alternatives to the softwares I use, as long as they are good enough for what I want to do

    Thanks!.
