    Hi.
I want to buy new monitor, as I currently have 22" 1680x1050 TFT TN, screen.
I really like this monitor LG 29EA93-P look, and aspect ratio.

I play games, and watch movies, most TV Shows I've got mid-end PC, with will be hit to wall, compare performance impact from 1680x1050 to 2560x1080, but that's Ok, I will play on normal graphic settings, and get gorgous image quality and colours that. (On my current screen the colours are washed out, not so great)

The other thing is the movies, but most TV Shows in HD that I watch are blurays 720p/1080p and as I read, and read the people saying that most of them are in cinematic aspect ratio, so my screen will be filled up and use properly, GREAT!

TV Shows are other thing I watch lots of them frequently then movies (about 4-5 episodes of diffrent shows in one week) in HDTV quality with are 16:9 aspect, so my screen will be cut off the left and right side.

What do you thing? Go for the 27" 16:9 1080p screen for shows that I watch, or buy this one?
I don't have lots of money so don't advice me 2560x1440 screen or 120/144Hz screen etc.

One thing to consider, is the 21.9 aspect ratio on the LG. The viewing area of the screen from top to bottom is only 10 inches. The images seem a bit sqeezed with that limited viewing are. Measure the actual viewing area on the monitor you already have and you'll see what I mean. If I were you,I would go with a 27" 16.9 monitor. Just my opinion.

Not correct with that height of 10 inches. Screen view height is similar to the 23 inch screens. My Dell U2913WM which has the same screen panel as that LG model has screen active display area of 26.49" x 11.17" . So guessing the LG is same. It is just like a 23 inch model (as in same display height) but with sides extended out.

Movies (2.39:1) fill the screen. TV shows will still have the black bars either side.

Gaming is subjectively more immersive, seeing how your vision is almost all screen. In shooters like BF4, adds FoV (great to have). Did play WoW with this screen and again, extra in FoV was nice in PvP. Games like Lol show more real estate but that don't really translate to an advantage. I don't notice any lag issues regards the 5ms response times. But then, I don't ultra seriously competitively play.

    Anyways, I like my 21.9

It's 10 inches. I found the specs somewhere but can't remember where. I'll find it again and post it when I do.

MacT is right. It's a bit over 11 inches. Still way to narrow as far as I'm concerned.

I went from a 23" monitor to the 29" wide. Pretty much same height in inches between 23" and 29" wide - same 1080 pixels. So wasn't disappointed in height. Guess it is what I was used to....

    I see there is now a 2560x1080 34" 21:9 monitor and also a 3440 X 1440 34" 21:9 monitor (drool)

Hym, you're saying that you have 29" 21:9 same as I want.
Tell me how much in "cm" are the bars from left and right side, when watching movie with 16:9 aspect ratio? Cuz i want to have "imagination" of how much space will be taken away from me :)
