Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed for PC

this is one of the more enjoyable game I've played in some time

well Witcher 3 was as well..

anyways! I love playing this with the xbox360 controller for Windows
stealth/sneaking is so much fun, not to mention the 3rd person shooting ability and the ability to switch to first person

everything is so smooth, transitioning from your horse to running to sprinting, to slow/stealth crawl in the bushes.. and then to immediately lean against a barrier to hide..

it's just so fluid and responsive I love it.

also the random moments are hell of fun

for example parking D-Horse in the middle of the road

supply truck comes along, they honk at the horse to move, it doesn't move..
so driver rolls down his window sticks his head and his arm out to wave and bang on the car door to get d-horse to move...

and you as snake just sit there and watch it in it's glory, and then quickly snipe the driver with a tranq in the face before he has a chance to roll the window up.

or for example.. calling Pequod to pick you up near a base full of soldiers

and then having Pequod turn around and fire on the base with it's Rockets. and watching the base just EXPLODE is OH SO MUCH FUN (I feel like I'm watching a michael bay movie!!)

Never thought i'd say this but Quiet singing into the mic gets annoying after a while. Why can't she just be true to her name. women

 

Argh, why is it X (controller) to sprint when walking, then left AG click to sprint when on horse and D-walker.

The cost of items in this game is stupid too. 200,000 for a level 3 tranq gun that only ups damage by...looks to be about 5%. With resource gathering and fulton-ing pretty much working against each other (as you mentioned, DocStrangelove) its not hard to slip into the red, you then need to go further into the red just to get out of it. Tf!

There are soooo many lethal options in this game, but other than strangling guards, dropping crates or using the tranq pistol, thats it. Even the tranq rifle is loud as Fq and the same goes for the stun assault rifle. Maybe it comes later, but the game could use some equip-able suppressors for weapons. The moment you fire a loud shot, everyone one knows where you are or if you try and go out of the enemies hearing zone, accounting for bullet drop seems to be random and theres no visual indication either.

Tbh, I dont know why Im doing this to myself. Im really trying to persevere, but there is just soooo much annoying little shortfalls with this game that its just becoming one big frustrating experience.

I really miss the long story rich cutscenes also. So big sarcastic thanks to all the whingers that complained about a series known for its story over gameplay. The devs obviously heard you, so well done and i hope you enjoy the repetitive gameplay you're now complaining about. High five.

That list veteran posted contains so much info that should made obvious to the player in some form or another, considering that the last 8-10 years of games have done nothing but have players play the ol follow the ai leader. Half the stuff in that list i imagine most gamers wouldnt even bother to try as they're so use to non-interactive "cinematic" games that leave little room for exploration and trail and error gameplay.

 

There's a series of side-ops, gets a bit annoying but the reward is well worth it when it comes to how you use your weapons.

Full weapon customization, level up your base teams and gather blueprints and you can customize nearly every weapon in the game, later "versions" of weapons also brings more parts and often better parts too such as higher grade silencers and scopes so even though resource cost goes up a bit when using custom weapons it's well worth it to have gear customized perfectly for your own playstyle.

Though yeah there's more lethal weapons than non-lethal.

 

When i run out of non-lethal options and sneak to an enemy until i get close, then just start running towards him (most guys have 2 seconds shock & reaction time), then fire your silenced rifle into his legs. By the time he's done with stumbling around in pain you're next to him and can grab him. If you need cover from other guys just throw a smoke gren.

 

There is an app on iOS for this game which u can use as IDROID, ONLY consoles.

Why u haters didn't mention this before. It will be perfect to use iPad while gaming. OMG

If i want a weapon upgrade i just look what requirements i need in the development center and then go and search for the specific specialist needed in the descriptions of all side quests.

It says what specialists you can find as bonus targets but dependant on the mission they may be hard to find.

Played side mission 10 like 5 times to find the transportation specialist.

 

Lol, I do that too I was just wondering which specific set of side missions.

Haha mission 10, I've to do that tonight to get the transportation specialist as I need the Fulton upgraded for mission 16

You can put a suppressor on anything. My best weapon is a semi automatic silenced tranq rifle with a sleep grenade launcher underbarrel attachment. If you want a suppressor for sniper rifles make sure you've researched a weapon that has the suppressor like the m2000 for example. It would be wise to research the one with a medium durability suppressor as well even if you dont plan on using that weapon you can put its suppressor on your tranq gun.

How is it confusing to get weapon customization!? Do people not listening to the things they say in game. Dont they read text!? Wtf... how hard can it be to do the 3 missions, LISTEN and READ what they say about the smith and its apprentices!?

I really have to wonder if the majority is just lazy or too dumb today. Or they simply shut down their brain and dont think it all. Maybe thats it.. :bang: There cant be no other explanation.

 

How this staff management works? Do I need to manually remove low levels while I capture High levels? No room left for now. But remove manually and add again so so pain.

Perhaps you might consider that some of us havnt done any of any of the gunsmith side ops yet, some may not have unlocked those side ops yet.
I just unlocked the first from my last playtime on Monday after mission 14/15( just checked there before i can game later ) and it gives me something to focus on.
Also at the rate im playing of maybe 10-12 hours a week its pretty easy to lose track of whatever was said when i started it 3 weeks ago.

No need here for opinionated comments on gamers being dumb or lazy, post away in the pub forum if you have something to say about it.

 

Dude equip yourself with the tranq pistol and tranq sniper rifle, you can customize the sniper rifle to put a silencer on it.
Also use your distraction techniques to take down enemies. I use empty mag, d-dog"s bark and the prosthetic arm constantly to distract enemies and sneak up behind them using cqc. I play trying to use cqc the most and the tranq gun as a last resort. Try it!!

 

When base is full. If we extract a high skill man. Will it auto replace the low level?

 

No. You need to get rid of low levels yourself.
