ah that sucks so basically just stick with the Dev driver until they give us an actual release of DX12

Just realized one thing. With the 358.70 driver if i watch 1080p@60 fps videos, i don't have any lag. Any other drivers (364.xx 362.00) i do have it. These youtube videos are butter smooth. Nothing has been changed, apart from drivers.

Just tested 8K youtube video, silky smooth. Feels like i play a 1080p video. CPU is sitting on average utilization Loading time is awful but magic action helps a lot. I remember 8K was a damn slide show before.

This is true, although the driver only enables DX12 in one test (3dmark API overhead test) anyway - you can't play any DX12 games with it.

Here is my API overhead result with a single MSI GTX580 Lightning edition;

DX12 draw calls per second 4 304 816

cool 4x more faster in dx12 compared to dx11 in same hardware, it's as if your gtx 580 turn into a gtx 970.

I tested here with my 560, first thing that I notice is that SLI disable DX12, but after disable SLI, DX12 works...

But anyway, there is something strange. When I make the test with my card on lower clock, less than 860mhz, the test run just one time, it says "part 1" but when the clock are higher, it run "part 2" DX12 test, and the final draw calls number is much lower at the end of the tests.

It looks like that when draw calls number reaches 100.000 and the FPS still higher than 30, it runs the part 2 test. So, when clock is lower, the FPS gets below 30 before that the draw calls number reaches 100K - it stops at 96-98K I think... I don't know exactly why it does this, but anyway, the screenshots are just below.

I wish that Nvidia releases soon a official DX12 driver to Fermi. I tested with the latest driver, is not working DX12, I don't know why is working on this older driver... This driver, 358, was released by mistake? ... Also, I don't tested on other applications besides 3DMark.

860 MHz

1020 MHz

lol my motherboard was made in 2008 and the E0 Xeon CPU stepping is from 2009.

That's 7-8 year old tech.

Plus you have 8 cores and I only have 4 (with no hyper-threading).
