Are you using 368.xx drivers? Is it just GeForce Experience or other things that require connections, such as the Windows store, Chrome 64 bit, etc. as well? If so this might be caused by the driver problems we're trying to nail down in this thread.

A really weird issue that I still have with GeForce Experience across Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Pro v1511 is that it refuses to open when I select the option from the NVIDIA system tray icon. No amount of uninstalling then reinstalling it clean or beta versions will get the damn thing to work.

The odd thing is that GeForce Experience otherwise loads fine from a desktop shortcut and I've had no issues or crashes using it.

Does anyone know why this does not work? I can access the NVIDIA control panel from the same NVIDIA system icon just fine.

New beta released with a new ui and speed increase. Runs very smoothly on my PC. I'm taking a guess and saying that this may hint at an updated nvidia control panel UI too.

Just got done testing it..I don't like how they make it so you gotta have a nvidia account to use it. At least you can log in with your google account.

The UI is better and faster indeed, I think I might keep it installed for a change.

Finally. I think they were talking about revamping GFE last autumn and it was originally expected by the years end? GFE is good idea and beats the legacy control panel in many ways but it is slow and heavy. Hopefully they fix that side of it.

I got a popup to join the beta when launching GFE.

I hope it means that the Nvidia Control Panel will be getting an overhaul. The current one replaced the original NV control panel like 10 years ago. Plus it doesn't scale with high DPI monitors.

GFE has the same issue with scaling text. I sure wish app developers would make scaling text with the UI universal and with an option to change the size.

Edit, so test drone mode....
Maybe I'm an idiot, but it seems the ability to adjust the logo LED is gone. Of course I know where to locate the folder and run it manually. But did they remove this function?

I'm another person who wishes that NVIDIA would update their control panel applet. For example, the per-game profiles are horribly outdated in that adding a new game only show the executable filename and there's no way to edit it to show its actual proper name unless you use something like NVIDIA Inspector. There's also no way to export or import profiles either. And the whole interface is very sluggish when accessing profiles and on my system can typical freeze for 10-15 seconds despite being installed on a fast SATAIII SSD.

HA!

I've just installed the new beta version of GFE and the system tray shortcut appears to work. However, I've found that it usually DOES work straight after installing it but if I restart or shutdown my PC then the next time I try to use it fails. We'll see if this still happens with this new version.

I do like the new design though but on my 25" 2560x1440 display the text is a just a little too small for comfort. Would be nice to have a choice of font sizes and so on.

Weird, I had the opposite, not having it work just after I installed it, required a restart to work. Hope it contiues to respond.

I do like the new GFE user interface after having a play around with a bit and really hope that NVIDIA revamp their archaic control panel so it uses the same styling. In fact, why not just combine both together and have all these options under one piece of software rather than two jarringly different ones?

Yeah, I don't really get why GFE isn't an optional part of the standard CPL like the 3D driver for example.

The reason why the Nvidia Control Panel is slow for 3D profiles has been beat to death. It refreshes every time you start it (edit: for the first time on a reboot). So it searches every drive for new game installs. Basically they only way to fix that would be to change how it starts by not refreshing. GFE doesn't do that.

The onscreen overlay is pug-ugly IMO. Not only is it placed annoyingly off-centre on my 2560x1440 screen (possibly a bug... it is beta after all) but the text and icons are too way large. Also it is at odds with the otherwise slick looking main interface IMO.

Tried an upgrade on both an 860m and 980Ti and got a runtime error on both machines, and GFE install either uninstalled or was corrupted. working fine after a clean install on both machines. Driver version 368.39. Overall the UI seems to load and work faster.

Hey, guess what, over a week after installing the new GFE v3.0 beta, I am still able to open it via the NVIDIA system tray icon (something I haven't been able to do with the previous versions for almost two years!) and the program opens and displays my game icons in around 5-10 seconds.

It's stunningly fast, which only makes me question why the previous builds were so damn slow in the first place. I mean the previous versions just displayed a list of games as text whereas as the new versions is showing high quality artwork for over 150 games and they all load within 10 seconds! Impressive stuff. I really hope that NVIDIA can make the existing control panel as fast and slick as this version of GFE.
