It's a nice alternative to the in game AO. Which didn't seem totally awful from what I saw. (Though some was highly inaccurate)
Though I feel like Bayonetta has aged well enough that it just needs some better AA to be good enough for me.

By any chance, is there a way to improve HBAO+ in the Witcher 3 through NVCP ??
As you are well aware, the Witcher 3 supports Nvidia's HBAO+ out of the box. However, lots of vegetation in this game looks flat and I thought improved (more aggressive) HBAO+ would make them look better.

What do you mean?

HBAO looks good(realistic)
HBAO+ vs none

Even looks much better than SSAO

SSAO vs HBAO+

1F seems to work fine. It bleeds a tiny bit, but much less than the in game SSAO close up.

While at a distance it bleeds more in a not so great way depending on the scene. (Similar to how in game SSAO bleeds at normal distances)
Could be fixed with a hex edit. And if only it wasn't blocked on W10 . Which leaves the number of people it could help, smaller.

I forgot to take a screen of it, but it also causes a sort of shadow acne garbage effect if you zoom in way way into the distance, like the distant roof in the 2nd mission. Only if you zoom all the way in though.

Blocked on win 10? I've he's edited and I'm pretty sure it's worked fine before.

Ambiant occlusion imo dosent really look good in the source engine. For some reason it just dosent fit with the game's asthetics.

But in stanlys case, the game structure and lighting is so plain and prebaked that it looks smudgy and overdone.

By the way. The black ops ambiant occlusion flag 0x00000038 is also really good. Unlike the mw3 flag, this is more subtle and dosent have z-fighting issues on cod4.

- Crossout (Beta) -
Flag: 0x00160030
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ||||||||||||||||||||
General Information: Make sure to add \Crossout\bin\win32\Crossout-D3D9.exe and \Crossout\bin\win64\Crossout.exe to the profile - they are not present by default in 382.53 driver.

You can toggle between 32-bit DX9 and 64-bit DX11 client via the game launcher.

Screenshots:

DirectX 9:
No AO

0x00000020 - lighter, shorter range

0x00000030 - darker, longer range (can be a bit too dark on grass)

Most other DX9 flags I tried break at certain camera angles/positions, fail to shade grass, or have no effect and destroy performance.

DirectX 11:
No AO

0x00130000 - darker car, lighter environment, shorter range

0x00160000 - lighter car, darker environment, longer range

EDIT: In-game HBAO+ implementation coming soon in update 0.7.20 (DirectX 11 only)

Tomb Raider Anniversary - seems to work using the same bit as for TR Legend:

Default
HBAO+ via 0x00000009

As with AA, will check how this one works across the whole game.

Update: Some minor bleeding in foggy areas but otherwise working fine.

big bleeding bug. Hasn't that game been updated several times that has impacted the AO injection?

If you were on W7, you could potentially fix it with hex editing. Otherwise you are SOL unless another flag works.

Yeah, no flag works in DX11 anymore, but I tried DX9 and found the flag for Dark Souls 2 "working".

Unfortunately I'm in Win10, but I have an SSD with Win7 installed somewhere in my room.

I remember you pointed in how to edit the DLL when I was trying to make it work in DX11 some months ago, the procedure is still the same?

It is as far as I am aware in W7. Though I have not attempted anything myself since Dead Rising. There's always the option of Reshade too probably.

Anyone tried to find a flag for Ghost in the Shell F2P game?
It's gamebryo and even F3/NV MSAA flags work, but none of gamebryo HBAO flags works.

Puzzling.

Though to be honest the game needs working AA way more than AO so MSAA is a godsend.

// EDIT:

NVM, 0x00000011 works although it doesn't apply to character models and seems to include fake geometry (like collision meshes).

//EDIT2:
0x00000029 seems to work best although in rare cases it will flicker off based on distance. Doesn't seem to have any solid rule as to which angle and place will react like that.

//EDIT3:
0x00000032 (FIFA 14) is the best so far, has most pronounced and not overdone effect and it doesn't flicker.

Has anyone found a flag that works for Cars: The videogame, or is that game too old?
I've tried many, still trying.

I dont beleive custom flags work in dx11. I do know that in the rare case a dev makes an nvidia flag, forcing will work a-la mgsv

ALSO

I found that the left 4 dead 2 hbao flag 0x00000014 (Left 4 Dead 2) when used in half life 2 looks the same but dosen't have bleeding issues.

Driver DX11 HBAO+ flags work exactly the same way as they do in DX9.
And NVIDIA is creating the official HBAO+ flags, not game developers.

There are many custom DX11 HBAO+ flags in both MrBonk's list as well as my own master list spreadsheet.
Please don't attempt to generalize.
