Dunno. I'd still take my 970 over it. But yeah, competitive pricing.

Well I wouldnt trade my 970 for that card listed either. Noisier and hotter. But if I had to choose right now then yeah def makes the choice harder...

They are end of life. I wouldn`t trade my cards for anything out currently.

GTX 780 only recently dropped in my region, some GTX770 are yet to drop. Now if the 780Tis dropped as well, and well below GTX970 then I'd probably take the 780Ti.

Because my 970 is almost as fast, and it runs quiet and cool. That ti would be a fair bit louder. My 970 was also £10 cheaper.

Oh, and don't you know you need every extra kb of vram for these upcoming games?

    Is this the new argument?

Both look like very good cards, and it's not like it's a huge difference between them.
I'm getting the 970 due to the extra vram and lower power and noise, and it wouldn't surprise me if a 970 was faster at a max oc.

No one is getting robbed if they pick a 780ti though, especially not at these prices.

There is nothing wrong with the 780ti it is a great card. This can lead to users who all ready own a 780ti to get a 2nd one for SLI if they decide to do so. If I was recommending a card to a user I would recommend a 970 or 980 due to it being a new card and plus the extra GB of VRAM.

Still 780ti is worse buy because of only 3 GB VRAM which is less than GTX 970 or 980.

3GB vram is perfectly fine for 1080p

Wait..what? 780ti is still a faster card than both the 970 and 980, and still good enough to pull high or ultra settings at 1080p.

Now that the TI is at a more reasonable price bracket, it makes it more attractive for those that already have one if they wish to SLI.

That being said, if you're looking to upgrade to a card, I don't see why anyone would go with a TI for the facts already mentioned. Noisier, runs hotter and uses more power + has 3gb of vram vs the 9 series.

With the 970/980, everyone keeps saying that the TI is still faster, well there haven't been many new drivers for the 9 series. I imagine they will have some gains over time.

Either way you go, you're getting great graphical performance. Comes down to what you can get your hands on easier really..

nVidia has stated that the 780Ti is to be permanently replaced by 970.

I'm so glad I sold my card almost directly after the 970/980 were released when it was still worth something.

if they are only that much new think how cheap they will be second hand ! places like ebay or gumtree now if I had a single gtx 780ti I would be looking for SLI'ing them but like I say second hand they probs almost give them away.

Where did they state that? As is the 980 isn't much faster than a 780ti. 10-15% over reference 928mhz boost clocks.

These days that's a substantial performance increase! ;)
Out of order, I'd guess so too, 780 replaced by the 970, but the Ti is somewhat in between the 780 and the Titan, so that if is going to be replaced, then by the 980, no?

The ti is a hell of a lot closer to a titan black than a 780. 780 only has 2304 cuda cores. 780ti and titan black 2880.
