What's your preference for gaming and/or listening to music?

..i have tried closed and open. It dependes on your enviroment. if you have a quiet studio then open is great. But if you are in a confined environment with people watching a tv :nerd: in the background then closed is the only way.....

i also find that maby you will need two pairs .. closed and open for different situations... open best for acoustic music..

I'm used to closed since I live in a noisy environment, window is usually open with a busy street there.

I live in a quiet environment but I definitely prefer closed.
After using open Sennheisers for years I bought a pair of closed cans, with family around and such, and I prefer them for their presentation and all the details they offer. So much stuff that gets swallowed easily with open cans can be heard nicely with closed ones.

I find open to be much more comfortable over long sessions. Having said that I got nothing but good things to say about audio-tech's ad900x set. Great price, sound and comfort

Open for gaming, movies and music. For me, open is more relaxed, wider and overall better for long wearing sessions.

I am blessed to live in quiet environment, so it works for me.

Open. Closed is tinny and claustrophobic. Open is airy and wide.

Just realized that all ,other than my Alpha Dog, are open....which leads me to conclude that I prefer open back cans. But, on those occasions which calls for close back cans (like rainy days) my Alpha Dog does a damn nice job of isolating most of the extraneous noises. My Denon AH-D7000/2000 do not qualify as close being more semi-open. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate a good close back can.....looking at a Shure 1540, or the secksay new Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro.
