Sometimes this happens to me. To fix it I hit the hotkey to disable the OSD and then re-enable it. Then recording works fine.

Figured out the problem apparently Norton antivirus counts as a 3d client so it wont let me record because of it can I somehow tell Msi afterburner to ignore it.

Same problem. Only thing i changed was the compression from uncompressed to MJPG. Tried changing back to uncompressed but now I can't record that either. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried betas, uninstalled, cleared leftover registries, reinstalled, nothing works.

edit: nevermind. I changed the recording button and it works now. Seems like suddenly my scandic buttons don't work as the recording button.

    Oh well.

Click on the bright white i, on the right and see which application is detected as "Active 3D Process". You may need to scroll down a little bit.
If that process is unwanted to be detected, you have to add a profile in RTSS and set detection level to none.

Trust me, it is related. The recording process will attach itself to any 3D process it sees. Many applications and utilities - despite not rendering anything in 3D - will use functions that will cause RTSS to detect them as "3D". Then, when that process doesn't actually produce any display output, the recording fails.

Absolutely correct. Desktop videocapture starts ONLY when there are no 3D processes running.
