Yeah, I always DDU when changing drivers.

My bad, I need to update my specs. I'm running an EVGA 1080 now.

The usual drill here, uninstall from device manager, uninstall from CP, DDU in safe mode, CCleaner then install driver and physX (driver debloat), all goes fine.
Still not benched this driver but .72 gave me the best benchmarks and game fps since getting my 1080 in Dec.

I don't usually have big issues with Nvidia's drivers. But this hotfix driver really messed up my system. Did a DDU whipe before installing. restored profiles etc. Fired up BF1. I instantly noticed lare amount of aliasing and shimmering. Switched from TAA to FXAA and back. No difference. Also the framerate dropped noticably. Apparently my CPU was spiking and was bottlenecking my 1080's in SLI considerably. Checked if settings were the same as with WHQL drivers. Ofc they were...

Reinstalled 378.66 WHQL all problems fixed. I also don't have the Debugmode issue so I keep far far away from these hotfix drivers. Unless I can have a hotfix driver for this hotfix driver perhaps? Anyone else have this kind of issue? I only tested BF1.

Do a clean install of Windows and stop using DDU. It screwed up my Windows as well after a couple of months and caused Driver Installs to fail.

Ever since i done a fresh install 3 months ago and stopped using DDU everything works fine.

Before i started using DDU i always used the following steps to install a new Driver:

    1) Disable Network Adapter.
    2) Uninstall old Driver + PhysX.
    3) Reboot PC.
    4) Run CCleaner Registery Cleaner.
    5) Install new Driver + PhysX.
    6) Reboot PC.

Doing this has always worked and never caused issues. DDU is a last resort program when you have major issues or when switching brands.

Here it got fixed around 376 branch, I think so need to check again. Although I'm still at 378.72 atm.

If you have DSR issues try to reinstall driver, just override.

You guys don't need to to all that. Here is my steps .

    1) If MSI AB running close it and set it to not start at login, if it was running reboot.
    2) Run Nvidia installer, pic what you want and make sure you do clean install.

    Thats it.

This is the expected technology evolution. No company is stupid enough to support 7 and 6 years old pc parts.

This driver's good, same as previous one for me, same performance in 3DMark benchmarks as well as game benchmarks (F1 2012 / F1 2015 / Batman Arkham Knight), no debug issue here, and works fine in Fallout 4 which I mention simply because it's the only game I've played since installing this driver.

EDIT: a bit more on Debug Mode. Debug Mode was not 'check boxed', but when I selected it went grey & check-boxed itself & I couldn't switch it back - I rebooted and Debug Mode was no longer check-boxed and card was boosting fine to overclocked levels. Don't know if this is normal behaviour for Debug Mode, but I had to reboot in order for it to come out of Debug Mode after I'd previously turned on Debug Mode.

Nvidia did officially announce DX12 support for Fermi.

No one should defend Nvidia for going back on their statement, not even saying anything about it.
