An efficient way to destroy your warranty for only 30€! Jokes aside, I think it's gonna be particularly useful in hands of crafty overclockers. At least they won't have to use razors anymore, rip finger / cpu.
if true and it can oc nicely intel might not be the cpu in my next upgrade for the first time since i had pc's, having a watercooled pc the heatspreader on my i5 4670k is driving me crazy, gpu oc'd under full load 50 degree's, cpu casually hitting 65-70 even on stock clocks (got it running 4.2 on all core's usually though) damnit intel shoulda stayed on the enthusiast platform at least they still have proper heatspreaders... for now.... wish these tools were available and this cheap when i tried to delid my cpu, had to try with a razor and couldn't get it off. thinnest razer i could find still wouldn't get under the heatspreader to cut the glue in any of the 4 corners
Why is this stupid? Intel is stupid for artificially limiting consumer's CPUs by using an inferior process of mating the die and HS.
why are they personified "delid-die mate", "dr. delid".. they won't console u when you fvck up your cpu .lol..still it's a safer method
Really depends on how good or crap the base material is in the CPU. If it's done properly, I wouldn't risk it for a few degrees, but for some CPU's it's as much as 10° C if not more.
Vice method is simple enough delidding is scary regardless though, there's always a risk even with these tools. :3eyes:
Risk is low with these tools. I've personally delided about 6-8 chips with a razor blade. Never caused any harm. Actually it can be as much as 30c. Average is more like 10c with tim. The metal based tim will be the stuff that gets 20-30c due to better conductivity.
