2. Should go (1800X/1700X) to 4.2 - 4.3GHz on Air (now im waiting for CM to update and send me Mounting for AM4, and i will go for OC Test to the MAX and for daily use/Gaming i will set 2 cores max to 4.2GHz and rest on default XFR)

Guys from OCUK managed to OC 1700 (yup 3GHz one) up to 4050MHz but for that you need beefy MOBO with 16 Phases of Power !
So 240€ MOBO and Upwards (tested on Hero VI and AsRock Thaichi)

 

That's the whole point of a value proposition. I can't see how it's a problem.

I am aiming for total 64GB (4x16GB) and in that capacity 3200MHz costs nearly 50% more than 3000MHz.
I definitely have to wait till there are proper tests showing what Ryzen gains as it moves from 2133MHz to 2400MHz, 2666MHz, ...

I know that chip well
But now i need to wait for CM Mounting bracket for AM4 cuz' my 1700X is WOF (without fan)
1700 is an BOX and has a cooler.

The difference?
1700X now is just like 1800X but w/lowered Clocks
1700X up to 4.2GHz easy (in time/BIOS we reach 4.5GHz easily)
1700 is 65tW and has confirmed 4Ghz stable

 

To me it ain't a problem. I am totally happy with that level of oc. If my upcoming 1800x goes to 4.2 I am happy camper. My ivy max clock is as of now 4.2ghz it is instant boost on every level.
