Hey there people!!! I had a SSD , mushkin chronos 128gb and the the sata connector broke off the board, bad assembly i guess. Well i had confidence in a friend to solder it back on but a few scratched and power points soldered together, alas it doesn't work dRIVING mE :banana: So my question is what ssd should i get or the pcie ones, im aiming for 200$ or less. Since i got my SSD on sale for 50$ lol Im using a regular laptop drive 128Mb cache and feels like walking in water compared to my ssd. P.s Im not stuck on any brand so any ideas are welcome, thanks for the read :infinity:
I wouldnt get a PCIe SSD as your CPU doesnt support NVMe for booting. Youre better off getting a Crucial MX300 and using Momentum Cache or a Samsung 850 Pro. The 850 Pro is a little more than $200 but its on sale and far better than cheapo consumer TLC drives. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820147361 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820156151&FM=1 The Crucial is a newer TLC drive, but for that price it really camt be beat and it supports Momentum Cache. You SHOULD use a battery backup if youre using Momentum Cache though, as it uses system DRAM as a cache.
