My first post, and I have to hope for tolerance. I have a GeForce 4 MX 420, which is not performing as well as it should. I downloaded RivaTuner, hoping that the default setting would help. They didn't, as far as I can tell. Can you give me an idea how to get started? I've been reading background, but I suspect that I'm missing more than I'm finding. Profiles would be good, but that's a suggestion. Thanks for your patience.
It's an MX420. It does many things but performing well is not one of them. What are you trying to do with it? Increase performance? Anything more particular?
Change in card. This is Father's Day in the US, and my daughters have just given me a Radeon 9250 Diamond Stealth 256 MB. I'm looking at the unopened box as I type. This will, I suspect, make a difference. I don't game. but other uses like movies and intensive screensavers.
