It is trash, SB/IB can be OC'd too you know, plus OCing 8150 increases it's power draw substantially. There's just no efficiency in BD no matter how you look at it.

Their GPUs are doing fine though, they may not match the 680 but they are fighting it off with the price (or at least trying too; they just had to release 7970ghz for 500usd).

No really? LGA2011 also once OC'ed. The processor is not that bad, plus its cheap for those on low budget.

YES gaming @ 1080p+ resolution, where cpu doesnt matter much.. And that's what i meant in the first place.

Or do you play at low 1280x720 resolution and everything on low? Yes then AMD FX definitely fails.

Edit: and i just edited my post so i won't sound too provocative :p

Good and good day to you too :)

I never said it was fair. If you have to have an amd CPU a thuban would be a better choice than a BD. the price difference in the us between a 2500k and a 8150 is like 20 bucks. You seem to have some pretty bad Intel pricing in NZ though.

That's NZ. I can get a 3770K for $289 at Microcenter which is about 20 minutes from my house. :) They are charging $187 for the 8150.

They always have the best prices. From my understanding, they're the only B&M store that actually prices their processors to beat all the online retailers.

The 3570K and 8150 are about the same price here, give or take $20, the same price as a 2500K, depending where you look.

But why are we bringing up this nonsense. A Nehalem beats it, if we talk about the 8150 at 4.5GHz then why not talk about how much the "i" series smashes it if they're overclocked. Even at 4.5GHz it's beaten out by a 4GHz Nehalem.

I got a 2500k while back for $179.99 at MC $8 bucks cheaper than an 8150. they have the 3570k for $189.99 right now. depends where you live

^Yeah we get shafted left right & centre down here. My mobo and ram alone cost over $350.

An 8150 is about $305 while the 3770K goes for $500. Some prices are screwed up, like a 2GB 670 is $688 - which is the exact same price as a 7970......lol

Hmm interesting. I wonder if Nvidia will try to steal a console contract from AMD. It would be bad for AMD if such a thing happened. However, it is probably unlikely.

I think they hired him to help market their tegra line of chips to portable device manufacturers.

305 for an 8150? Thank God that is out of my budget.
