Not sure where to post this but here goes. I have an intel(r) graphics controller 82810. I have a packard bell 700mhz and 191 mb of RAM. I wanna know how to get the best out of this graphics controller and if there are any patches to make it better. My games lag on-line and I think it is partly due to this and the fact i have aol. I only get pings of 600-800 on a 56k modem.
well I know it would lag but when someone with a 33k modem gets better pings than me I am seriously pissed off.
It must be your internet connection cause graphics has nothing to do with ping My Specs AMD Athlon XP 2100+ @1.734Gz w/coolermaster copper dual heatpipe heatsink Abit kr7a mobo Gainward Geforce4 Ti4600 Muskin pc2100 ddr cas222 Westerndigital 80GB w/ 8MB cache buffer Lian-Li pc60 blue aluminum case lite-on 40/12/48 cd-rw soundblaster audigy mp3 3dmarkse2001 score= 11470 @313/711 http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=3594125
i jus have to say this but pings have nothing to do with ure vcard....... unless your modem is completly software based, and is using part of ure processor to move around that little 6k or less of bandwidth around. and yea pings of 500ms are bad, I personly can't stand anything over 300ms on a 56k modem...... Its so good to have DSL pings of 50-60ms are so sweet
Acctualy... #1 - Yes, your modem wont do better than 150~200 ping , maybe your phone line connection isnt good at all, I got a PCI Lucent Win Mondem (softmodem) and I connect 50,9kbps/52,0Kbbps with 150~200 ping on online games, got pics to prove!! .. and it depends of the server connection quality, its machine and location. I got full digital line and I dont pay for internet connection (only linepulse) cause I connect to a free internet server from here (Brasil) its called iG. Before upgrade I used play on net with a ISA RockWell 33.6 HARDMODEM in a eeright: PentiumII 266Mhz, 64mbSDRAM PC66, ATI 3d 8mb eeleft: and getting the same ping and even batter! no chocke in connection, and its due cause HARDMODEMS force the best of your connection, because it has its own connection data processor. #2 - Intel`s graphic controller SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCKS!!! They are onboard cards, they take memory from your PC DIMM SLOTs, and plus, they conflict with OpenGL at some games, in Windows2k OpenGL and D3D crashes to FATAL ERROR and BLUE SCREEN many time, does anyone know what driver for it is the best to fix this problem. I had these problems while testing Warcraft3 and Half-Life:Counter-Strike at OpenGL or D3D @ 640x420 NOTES: I know about them ("Intel Video Controllers"), cause I got them at my work :::: PC AT MY WORK :::: Pentium III 800Mhz FIC Motherboard (Intel 82801BA) Onboard Video (Intel 82815) Onboard Audio (SoundMax Digital Audio) 195mbSDRAM PC133 Maxtor 2(r) 20Gb SCSI Samsung SyncMaster 15" 550s
