If I am using RivaTuner, do I still need NvCpl to load at startup; or can it be removed? Currently it is temporarily disabled and I have seen no differences.

NvCplDaemon is only necessary if you apply driver level gamma/overclocking at Windows startup. Otherwise you can safely remove it.

    Thank you,

That is what i have experienced also.

On my windows xp tnt2 machine, after setting driver defaults, all i have is the 60hz refresh rate fix, amd irongate compatibility mode, direct3D antialising off, and hardware level overclock on. When these settings are applied, they take effect with no other involvement.

On my windows 98 gf4 mx440 machine, after setting driver defaults, all i have is bus mastering mode for video on, direct3D antialising off, and hardware level overclock on. When these settings are applied, they take effect, however it will re-enable back into the registry the NvCpl.
