Twink2015,
I hope this does not happen to my system, because I have the exact same as you and are planning to buy a similar GeForce 2 videocard. As for a solution, I wouldn't have a clue.

Is it with any game or a particylar one?
If it is with just one try a patch.
See the compatibility list for your PC to see if every component in your pc is compatible with each other.
Look for drivers made for AMD

    I have giga motherboard GA5-ax, amd-k2 450 128 pc100 ram.
I bought hercules geforce 2 mx and now cant access some games at all and others freeze randomly.
I have spoken to tech support, researched web forum and all sorts.
I am being told that tht geforce card does not get on well with gigabyte motherboards. I was told to load latest agp drivers and bios at one point but then told this wouldnt work anyway.
Also the motherboard ali chipset is a problem to the video card.
The bottom line is I have been told to get a new motherboard and therefore a new processor.
Therefore the answer to your question is that £200 should correct the problem.
This is a real pisser because you find out after you've bought the vidcard which was my budget for improving my computer.
Then all this crap happens and its time to open wallet again.
Let me know how you get on
Im just about to order Abit KT7 & motherboard and athlon 750 cpu......OUCH

You can get a new mobo if you like BUT I've had a similar problem with the similar mobo. All games used to lock hard after a few seconds although its okay in windows. Basically what you have to do is FORCE AGP 1X because this mobo will not cope with running the card at AGP X2 happily. I'm running AGP 1 X now with NOT ONE LOCKUP! (And I only lost 50 3DMARKS)

You may think its in but it actually isnt, give it a good slam, and make sure its secure.
As for Savior who said about forcing AGP to X1, can you actually do that in the bios?

Gigabyte is past its time now, the future is Abit KT7 Raid board. IT ROCKS!

the key is AGP Rev. 2.0 !!
older mainboard's based on Chipsets created for AGP 1x/2x are mostly AGP Rev. 1.0 !!
AGP 1.0 has not enought power to supply the MX-Card !! So, on very complex scenes it freezes..

I think you should have a look at www.geforcefaq.com to get the best tips for your problems. If you don't find a solution there, there is no solution.
