Sega/sammy seem to be pretty flush right now, maybe it's a risk they're willing to take? Still, they would really need to do some form of recap on the first two, or a serious remaster, it's been over a decade.
A revisit to this would need to be a legitimate open world type of game.. No one is going to settle for QTE's, corridor "exploration", basic fight mechanics and forklift driving in 2015.. Hitman Absolution pretty much stretched out this genre of games as far as it could go.
Kickstarter is pretty much dead in the water.. It's crashing it and holy crap at how much they raised so far in only a few minutes
I can't believe it. I never thought I would see the day when Shenmue 3 was being made. This is the only thing that has topped Doom for me. I just don't have the words to express my level of hype.
Kickstarter can't keep up, it's going ape**** due to the amount of people trying to pledge. It's crashing every once in awhile, which is why you're seeing the low figures.
