Make sure you get 2400MHz ram as well. The amount of money you can save by simply selling your 2500k and getting a 3770k as well as going from 1333 > 2400 will put you right up there with skylake. (Compare the timings on the kits you look at BEFORE you buy!)

Of course, make sure you OC the CPU and tighten timings on RAM as well. DOn't bother getting a 980 Ti right now. If you can, what you should actually do is sell your 980 right before pascal releases and prices drop, then get a 980 Ti at a massive discount, probably close to $500 (just guessing here, right now they're at $570ish).

Wait a month, then sell that for only a slight loss because the custom 1080 boards will be out and the "new thing" price premium will be falling off quickly. You'll likely be able to snag a new card a game bundle and get a game you've been wanting at the same time. Ubisoft will probably have Rainbow Six Siege, The Division, and whatever Tomb Raider it is now free with a few cards.

If you decide to hand onto your 980 Ti you can wait for the 1080ti to drop and depending on when that happens you might be able to get BF5 for free well, the base game at least. F'kin premium costs $40 on top of that but always check ebay and g2a, might be able to save a few bucks there as well.

Or you could just do them dumb sh'it thing and buy a new card as soon as it comes out because saving money is stupid. /s

Memory speed has been shown to make a difference. You can even see performance gains with igpu from both intel and AMD. Not a myth.
