Well, actually, yes, I agree. I actually installed Windows 3.11 from a few 5.25" drives on an old intel 80*86 running @ 12 Mhz. I also managed to run a few nice 3D (!) apps on it. From Q-Basic! It has a 50 MB harddrive which is still running!

I remember playing a few games on a 3DFx system. I bought one because the game wouldnt run in 3DFx mode! I'm talking about, Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter. I was so curious about the 3DFx gamemode, I actually bought one haha! I can't remember the name though... But it was blazing fast!

I remember my Voodoo Banshee, what a card lol. I went straight from that to a Radeon 9700 Pro and it was like night and day. Then from a 9700 Pro to an X850XT then to a 7600GT, then x2 X1900XTX in Xfire simple awesome set up running the most demanding game at the time Oblivion with only "Self Shadows" turned off everything maxed at 1680x1050 and still getting 93fps outdoors. Then from that to the mighty 8800GTX, and now to my 4870x2 which I have had many fights with but in the end it still gets me 125fps in COD4 even on busy servers, 60fps in Fallout 3 everything maxed 4xaa, 8xaf, + bloom (no HDR due to Xfire HDR lighting bug). And it manages to pull in over 130fps in STALKER 1 with every setting maxed out outdoors with the new Enzyme 1.0 pre-final drivers.

Anyways great post very informative.
