MSI GTX 980 OC Clearance problem

    Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town. I contacted MSI support, and according to them the problem is my CPU. They told me that the Intel I7 3930K don't support PCI-E 3.0, it only support PCI-E 2.0. I will have to switch to the i7 4930K ( Ivy bridge E) which does support PCI-E 3.0

    No need to worry about PCI-e 3.0 the difference is less than 3%.

    I agree, but why pay $550.00 for a PCI-E 3.0 graphic card when you can't even use it at it full potential.

    Some 3930k support PCI-E 3.0. You have to have the correct stepping revision. i think its C2. My 3930k runs PCI-E 3.0 on my 980's

    i dont know man. from PCI-E 2.0 to 3.0 i got more than 8% increase in performance. this is with 980 sli though and i used firestrike and my graphcs score went from 27k to nearly 30k. I guess single card wont really matter anyways
