I'm planning on buying a 19" inch monitor, but i don't know which one to pick - widescreen or standard. Can someone give me the advantages and disadvantages for both.
I think 19" monitor aren't big enough for a widescreen one. Then the screen's height sucks, in my opinion. Another disadvantage you get when you own a widescreen monitor is that you might not be able to scale the source properly (I'm thinking of nVidia drivers under XP here). Plus some game companies (EA anyone?) consider wide resolutions 'exotic'. So the bottom line is: a bigger screen would be better if you wanna go widescreen.
